Shipping and Delivery Policy
This policy explains what happens between the moment you place an order with Bay One Auto Equipment and the moment your equipment is in your possession. It covers delivery charges, timing, the three ways your order can reach you, what's required to receive freight, and how damage, shortages, and other issues are handled. It applies to every order.
BEFORE YOU ORDER
What your delivery charge is
The delivery charge shown on a product page is the amount you pay for standard delivery of that item to a commercial address in the contiguous United States. It is carried through to checkout unchanged.
Some deliveries need more than standard service. Homes and other addresses without a loading dock, liftgate service, remote destinations, and repeat delivery attempts are all priced separately by the carrier. When your order needs any of these, Bay One Auto Equipment works out the cost, tells you the number, and ships only after you approve it. Nothing delivery-related is added to your order without that approval.
If a delivery charge on the website was wrong, we contact you with the correct figure before shipping, and you can proceed at the correct figure or cancel for a full refund.
Warehouse pickup has no delivery charge.
Where we deliver
We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military addresses, and islands are handled by individual quote, and some equipment cannot ship to those destinations. A few products going to certain states also need a quote, which is flagged on the product page. In every quoted case, you approve the amount before anything beyond your checkout total is charged. We do not ship outside the United States.
How long delivery takes
Parcel orders generally arrive within two to seven business days of purchase. Freight orders generally arrive within five to ten business days of purchase, depending on which warehouse ships your order, carrier scheduling, and where you are.
These are typical ranges. Bay One Auto Equipment does not guarantee a delivery date, and carrier scheduling, weather, and manufacturer stock can extend the timeline. If your order is time-sensitive, mention it when you order and we'll tell you what is realistic for your item and your address.
ONCE YOUR ORDER IS PLACED
Processing and notification
Your order is confirmed by email when it's placed. When it ships, you receive a second email with the carrier's name, the carrier's phone number, and your tracking or PRO number. Freight orders also receive a delivery confirmation from Bay One Auto Equipment before release, so that the receiving arrangements are settled before the shipment leaves the warehouse.
Backorders and special orders
If your item isn't in stock, we tell you the manufacturer's expected date and you decide whether to wait or take a full refund. That choice stays open if the date moves.
Special-order equipment has a manufacturer lead time, which we confirm with you before submitting the order. Once a special order is with the manufacturer, it generally can't be cancelled.
Orders with several items may ship from different warehouses on different days, each with its own tracking.
RECEIVING YOUR ORDER
Warehouse pickup
Most equipment we sell can be collected from the manufacturer's warehouse. Pickup locations for each product are listed on the product page and available as a delivery choice at checkout. When your order is ready, usually within two to four business days, we email you the pickup reference, warehouse address, and hours. Warehouse staff load your vehicle by forklift, and you bring a truck or trailer that can carry the packaged weight and length of your equipment.
Freight delivery
Freight is how vehicle lifts, tire and wheel equipment, compressors, and other heavy items travel. Your shipment moves by LTL carrier on a pallet or in a crate, and the carrier calls the phone number on your order to set a delivery appointment.
Freight is delivered to the curb or dock. The carrier brings your shipment to the address and positions it at the back of the trailer; getting it off the truck is on your side. Equipment above the carrier's liftgate weight limit, which includes every vehicle lift we sell, has to be unloaded with a forklift or comparable powered equipment that you have on site during the appointment. Carriers do not let drivers unload freight or help with unloading.
Terminal pickup
If you don't have unloading equipment where you want the shipment to go, Bay One Auto Equipment can send it to the freight carrier's terminal that serves your area. You collect it there on a trailer, and terminal staff load it for you. Because terminal pickup avoids residential and liftgate service, those charges don't apply.
Liftgate deliveries
Tire changers, wheel balancers, bridge jacks, and most accessories fall within the carrier's liftgate weight limit and can be lowered to the ground at your address, no forklift needed. Liftgate is arranged before your order ships and may carry a charge that we confirm with you first. It gets the shipment to the ground and no further. Vehicle lifts are not eligible for liftgate unless the product page says so.
Homes and other non-dock addresses
Freight carriers charge more to deliver anywhere a tractor-trailer can't pull up to a loading dock, which includes residences and most non-commercial sites. Bay One Auto Equipment confirms this charge with you before shipping.
You select your address type at checkout. If the carrier determines the address was classified incorrectly and applies a reclassification fee, you are responsible for that fee.
Unloading works the same at a home as at any other curbside delivery.
Parcel deliveries
Accessories and lighter items ship by UPS or FedEx and are left at your address without a signature unless you've told the carrier otherwise.
Missed deliveries
If the carrier arrives for a scheduled freight appointment and no one is there, or the shipment can't be unloaded, the carrier takes it back and reschedules. You are responsible for the redelivery fee and for any storage charges the carrier applies while the shipment is held. Bay One Auto Equipment does not cover forklift rental, labor, or other costs tied to a delivery that has to be rescheduled.
AT THE DOOR
Inspection
Freight has to be inspected before you sign the delivery paperwork. Look over the crate or pallet, the wrapping, and any exposed equipment, and check the piece count against the packing slip.
Anything damaged or missing gets written on the delivery receipt before you sign, in your own words, describing what you see. Take photos. If the damage is serious, refuse the shipment and call Bay One Auto Equipment right away.
The delivery receipt is what the carrier uses to decide whether a shipment was damaged in their care. Damage recorded on it is claimable. Damage that isn't recorded is much harder to recover afterward.
Refusing a shipment
Refusal is for serious visible damage. A shipment refused for any other reason, or without contacting us first, is treated as a return. You are responsible for the outbound freight, the return freight, and any storage or handling the carrier charges. Bay One Auto Equipment does not charge a restocking fee. Refusing a shipment does not by itself produce a refund.
AFTER DELIVERY
Damage and missing parts
Damage you find after opening the packaging, and any parts or components that are missing, must be reported to Bay One Auto Equipment within 48 hours of delivery. Email support@bayoneautoequipment.com with your order number, photos of the packaging and the affected items, and a description of the problem. Keep the pallet, crate, and packaging until the claim is closed.
From there, Bay One Auto Equipment handles it. We file with the carrier and the manufacturer, follow the claim through, and arrange replacement parts or equipment. You don't deal with the carrier. Reports made after 48 hours can still be looked into but may not be recoverable.
Lost shipments
If tracking says your shipment was delivered, or shows it as lost, and you don't have it, contact us and we open a trace with the carrier. Traces run on the carrier's timeline. A shipment that goes astray because the address on the order was wrong is not covered.
Installation
Your delivery charge pays for transportation. Installing, anchoring, wiring, assembling, permitting, and preparing the site are separate, and you are responsible before ordering for confirming that your ceiling height, floor, power supply, and bay dimensions meet the manufacturer's requirements. Bay One Auto Equipment can put you in touch with installers in your area.
TERMS
Ownership
Your equipment becomes yours, and the carrier becomes responsible for it, the moment the carrier picks it up from the warehouse. Your inspection at delivery and your notes on the delivery receipt are what hold the carrier to that responsibility.
Your address
You are responsible for giving us a complete, correct delivery address and a phone number the carrier can reach. Changing the address after shipment depends on the carrier's approval and may cost a rerouting fee.
