View full detailsMeasure from the floor to the lowest thing overhead, not just the ceiling itself. Garage door openers, door tracks and light fixtures often decide it. Then add the lift's height at full rise to the height of your tallest vehicle. The Triumph NT-9 and NT-11, for example, raise to 72 inches, and the roof of the car sits above that. What size car lift do I need walks through the measurements.
A floor-plate lift runs its cables and hoses through a drive-over plate between the columns instead of an overhead beam, which is how it stays short.
If you want nothing on the floor between the columns, the AMGO OH-12S offers three height settings of 143 1/8, 155 1/8 and 167 1/8 inches, chosen at installation. It keeps the 12,000 lb capacity of the OH-12, whose lowest setting is 174 inches.
The AMGO LR06 and LR10 raise to 24 3/16 inches and the MR06 to 42 15/16 inches, with no ceiling calculation needed.
The AMGO BP-9 is built for ceilings of 9 feet or higher. How high you can raise a vehicle still depends on the vehicle, so measure your tallest one before ordering.
Among our fixed two-post lifts, the AMGO BP-9 is the shortest at 108 inches overall. The portable Triumph C-7000 stands 95 inches.
The BP-9, NT-9, NT-11 and OH-12S need a dedicated 220V circuit. The AMGO portable lifts run on 110V. See the 110V vs. 220V guide.
