Triumph NT-9 9,000 lb — The Two-Post That Fits Where Other Lifts Won't

The Triumph NT-9 9,000 lb Two-Post Floor Plate Lift is a straightforward, capable lift built for the vehicles that make up most of the work in most bays — cars, sedans, crossovers, and light-duty trucks. Its floor plate design routes the equalising cables and hydraulic hoses through a drive-over base plate on the floor rather than across an overhead beam, which is why the entire lift stands only 111 inches tall.

At 4.5 inches of lowered arm clearance, the NT-9 handles ordinary passenger cars without ramps or blocks. Three-stage front arms provide excellent reach on a wide variety of vehicles, while the asymmetric arm layout lets the vehicle sit set back between the columns so the doors open once the car is in the air. Two hydraulic cylinders, one per column, bring the carriages up together under an uneven load without fighting the equalising system.

The NT-9 has a 9,000 lb capacity, raises to 72 inches in approximately 40 seconds, and requires a dedicated 220V circuit. Truck adapters are included in the box at no extra charge.

What Makes the Triumph NT-9 Two-Post Floor Plate Lift Stand Out

✔ Floor Plate Design — Built for Low Ceilings

The NT-9 routes its equalising cables and hydraulic hoses through a drive-over base plate on the floor between the columns — not across an overhead beam. The result is a lift that stands only 111 inches tall overall. Garages that cannot take a full-height overhead beam two-post can often take the NT-9. Measure your ceiling against the column height and the roof of your tallest vehicle at full lift before ordering.

✔ 4.5" Lowered Arm Clearance — Low Cars Welcome

On a two-post lift, the collapsed arm height decides whether a given car can be lifted at all. At 4.5 inches, the NT-9 sits low enough for ordinary passenger cars, low-profile sports coupes, and vehicles with front lips — without ramps, blocks, or improvised solutions.

✔ Asymmetric Three-Stage Arms — Doors Open at Height

The NT-9 uses asymmetric arms — double telescoping toward the front of the vehicle, single telescoping to the rear. Three-stage front arms provide excellent reach across a wide variety of vehicles. The vehicle sits set back between the columns rather than centred on them, which is the arrangement that lets the doors open once the car is in the air.

✔ Dual Hydraulic Cylinders — Levels Uneven Loads

Two hydraulic cylinders, one per column, bring both carriages up together under an uneven load. A vehicle almost never sits with its weight split evenly between the two posts — engine forward, toolbox in the bed — and dual cylinders handle that imbalance directly rather than fighting it through the equalising system alone.

✔ Dual-Point Lock Release — One Control, Both Columns

Both column locks disengage from a single dual-point release control. No walking around the lift to free each post individually — particularly useful when working alone, which most owners of this lift do.

✔ Truck Adapters Included

Truck adapters ship in the box at no extra charge. A common surprise line item on lift orders — the NT-9 includes them as standard so there are no additional purchases needed to lift pickups and light-duty trucks.

✔ 9,000 lb Capacity — Cars to Light-Duty Trucks

At 9,000 lbs, the NT-9 covers the daily mix of cars, crossovers, and half-ton trucks that make up most bay work. A 40-second full raise keeps the bay moving between jobs.

✔ No Electric Safety Shutoff — Purely Mechanical Safety Stack

The NT-9 does not include an electric safety shutoff at the top of travel. The safety system is the automatic lock ladder, the arm restraints, and the operator. Check that the locks have engaged before going under any vehicle — every time.

Who Is the Triumph NT-9 9,000 lb Two-Post Floor Plate Lift Built For?

🏠 The Home Garage Owner

The floor plate design and 111-inch overall height make the NT-9 a realistic lift for a residential garage with standard ceiling height — not just an aspirational one.

🔧 The Small Independent Shop

9,000 lbs covers the daily mix of cars, crossovers, and half-ton trucks. A 40-second raise keeps a bay moving between jobs without waiting on the lift.

🚗 The Low Car Owner

At 4.5 inches of lowered arm clearance, the NT-9 handles slammed coupes, low-profile sports cars, and vehicles with front lips that other two-post lifts can't accommodate without ramps or blocks.

🛻 The Mixed Fleet Owner

Low arms at one end of the range, included truck adapters at the other — the same lift handles a low sedan on Saturday and a half-ton pickup on Sunday.

🏗️ The Low-Ceiling Bay Owner

No overhead beam and only 111 inches of column height. A garage that cannot take a taller overhead beam two-post can often take the NT-9. Measure before you order.

The Triumph NT-9 Fits More Garages Than a Standard Two-Post — Here's How to Confirm Yours

Ceiling Height

The NT-9 stands 111 inches overall at the columns. No overhead beam adds height above that. Your ceiling needs to clear the column height plus the roof of your tallest vehicle at full lift height. Measure your own worst case — door openers and light fixtures often decide it.

Floor Width

Overall width across the columns is 132 inches — check this against your bay walls first. Width between posts is 106 inches.

Drive-Thru Width

The drive-through opening between the carriages is 96 inches — the gap a vehicle has to pass through on the way in.

Working Height

Lifting height is 72 inches. Lowered arm clearance is 4.5 inches — most passenger cars and low-profile vehicles clear the arms without ramps.

Power

The NT-9 requires a dedicated 220V circuit. This is different from other Triumph lifts like the NSS-8 and C-7000 that run on 110V. Confirm your garage has a suitable 220V supply and receptacle before ordering — not after.

Foundation

Triumph's installation manual covers the concrete and anchoring requirements for this lift.

Triumph NT-9 | 9,000 lb Two-Post Floor Plate Lift FAQs

What voltage does the Triumph NT-9 require?

The NT-9 requires a dedicated 220V circuit. This is different from other Triumph lifts like the NSS-8 and C-7000 that run on standard 110V. Confirm your garage has a suitable 220V supply and receptacle available before ordering.

Does the floor plate design affect how I use the lift?

The drive-over base plate sits on the floor between the two columns and needs to be kept clear of dirt and grease for the cables and hoses inside to function correctly. In exchange you get a lift with no overhead beam — better ceiling clearance and no bar stopping tall vehicles at the top of travel.

What vehicles will fit on the NT-9?

The NT-9 supports most cars, sedans, crossovers, and light-duty trucks up to 9,000 lbs. The 4.5-inch lowered arm clearance handles low-profile vehicles without ramps. Included truck adapters extend the arms to reach the frame rails on pickups and high-clearance SUVs.

Does the NT-9 need to be permanently anchored to the floor?

The NT-9 requires floor mounting. Triumph's installation manual covers the anchoring requirements and concrete specifications for this lift. Request a copy before ordering and confirm your slab meets the requirements before delivery.

How is the Triumph NT-9 delivered?

The NT-9 ships LTL freight at approximately 1,303 lbs. The freight carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, but the driver does not unload the lift. You will need a forklift, tow truck, or similar equipment rated for 1,303 lbs at your delivery address. Plan for this before placing your order.
