Triumph NSS-8 Classic 8,000 lb — Same Lift, Shorter Deck, Fits the Garage You Actually Have

The Triumph NSS-8 Classic 8,000 lb Four-Post Car Lift is built for garages that are the wrong length for a standard four-post. At 141 inches overall without approach ramps — 34 inches shorter than the standard NSS-8 — the Classic fits bays that would otherwise rule out a four-post entirely. Same 8,000 lb capacity, same 72-inch lift height, same 110V plug-in operation — in a shorter package built around the garage you actually have.

Raised to working height, the NSS-8 Classic is a service platform for fluid changes, exhaust work, underbody inspection, and brake jobs — the vehicle sitting stable on its own wheels on a solid drive-on deck. Parked at height with a second vehicle beneath it, the same lift recovers a full parking space in a garage that was designed for one car. At 69 inches of clearance under the runway, most adults work upright underneath without stooping.

The NSS-8 Classic ships complete with a caster kit, steel jack tray, and three drip trays. The included caster kit means the lift doesn't have to stay in one spot — one person can roll the assembled lift aside when the garage needs the floor for something else.

What Makes the Triumph NSS-8 Classic Short Four-Post Car Lift Stand Out

✔ 141 Inches Without Ramps — Built for Shorter Garages

The NSS-8 Classic runs 141 inches overall without approach ramps — 34 inches shorter than the standard NSS-8. That difference is the entire reason this model exists. Garages too short for a full-length four-post can often take the Classic. Measure your bay length against 141 inches before ordering — that is the number that decides it.

✔ Same 8,000 lb Capacity as the Standard NSS-8

The shorter deck does not compromise the capacity. The NSS-8 Classic carries the same 8,000 lb rated load as the full-size NSS-8 — suitable for most passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs within that weight range.

✔ 10 Locking Positions — Precise Storage Height Control

Ten automatic locking positions engage as the lift rises. On a lift used for long-term storage, the lock count matters — ten positions means parking the upper vehicle at the exact height that clears the vehicle underneath rather than the nearest notch. A raised vehicle rests on mechanical steel locks rather than hydraulic pressure, making it safe to leave stored at height for months. A single-point release drops all four columns together from one location.

✔ 72-Inch Lift Height — 69 Inches of Working Clearance

Lift height at the top of the runway is 72 inches. Height under the runway is 69 inches — the space you work in with the deck over your head. Most adults work upright underneath the vehicle without stooping.

✔ Fully Portable — Caster Kit Included

The included four-wheel caster kit lets one person lift one end and roll the assembled lift to the side of the garage when the floor is needed for something else. A four-post that moves is a four-post you can put away — that is the whole argument for this style of lift in a shorter garage.

✔ 110V Plug-In Operation — Standard Garage Outlet

Runs on standard 110V household power from a normal garage outlet. No electrician, no dedicated circuit, no delay between delivery and first use. Full lift cycle completes in approximately 40 seconds. Steel oil tank on the hydraulic power unit.

✔ Steel Jack Tray & Three Drip Trays — All Included

Steel jack tray accepts a standard bottle or floor jack to lift one end of the vehicle for brake, tire, and suspension work. Three drip trays catch oil, coolant, and brake fluid from the upper vehicle before they reach the one parked below. Both included in the box at no extra charge.

The Triumph NSS-8 Classic Is Designed for Shorter Bays — Here's How to Confirm Yours

Ceiling Height

The NSS-8 Classic stands 84 inches tall at the columns. If you're planning to stack two vehicles, your ceiling needs to clear the roof of whatever is sitting on the upper runway at your chosen lock height. Measure your actual vehicles — don't estimate.

Floor Length

The NSS-8 Classic runs 141 inches overall without approach ramps and 175 inches with ramps deployed. Add walking clearance at both ends and account for ramp storage when the ramps are off the lift. This is the key measurement that separates the Classic from the standard NSS-8.

Floor Width

The overall base width is 106 inches — just under 9 feet. Leave door-opening clearance on at least one side — a lift you cannot easily exit is a lift you stop using.

Drive-Thru Width

The drive-thru opening between the posts is 93 inches. Runways are 18 inches wide, sitting 37 inches apart, and run 132 inches in length. Vehicles with longer wheelbases should measure against the 132-inch runway before ordering.

Power

Runs on 110V standard power from a normal garage outlet. No dedicated circuit, no electrician, no delay between delivery and first use.

Foundation

Triumph's installation manual covers the concrete and anchoring requirements for this lift.

Triumph SJ-35 Storage Lift Bridge Jack (Optional)

The Triumph SJ-35 is designed specifically for the NSS-8 lift only. It slides into the runway gap to give you wheels-off access for brake jobs, tire rotations, and suspension work without removing the vehicle from the lift.

Operated by manual pump, the SJ-35 raises from a collapsed pad height of 4.75 inches up to 11 inches, with extensions available up to 16.5 inches. The adjustable pad width spans 31 inches to 46 inches, fitting the NSS-8's 37-inch between-runway gap cleanly.

  • NSS-8 compatible only
  • Manual pump operation — no air or power supply needed
  • Pad height: 4.75" collapsed / 11" extended / 16.5" with extensions
  • Adjustable pad width: 31" min / 46" max

Triumph NSS-8 Classic 8,000 lb Short Four-Post Car Lift — FAQs

What is the difference between the NSS-8 Classic and the standard NSS-8?

The NSS-8 Classic is 34 inches shorter than the standard NSS-8 without approach ramps — 141 inches versus 175 inches. The runway length is also shorter at 132 inches versus 165 inches on the standard NSS-8. Capacity, lift height, voltage, and all other specifications are identical. The Classic exists specifically for garages too short for the full-length NSS-8.

Will my vehicle fit on the NSS-8 Classic's shorter runway?

The NSS-8 Classic has a 132-inch runway length. Most standard passenger cars, compact vehicles, and sports cars fit comfortably. Vehicles with longer wheelbases — extended-cab pickups, full-size SUVs, and large sedans — should have their wheelbase measured against the 132-inch runway before ordering. If your vehicle needs more runway length, consider the standard NSS-8 at 165 inches.

Does the NSS-8 Classic require special electrical wiring?

No. The NSS-8 Classic runs on standard 110V household power from a normal garage outlet. No electrician, no dedicated circuit, and no hardwiring required.

Is the NSS-8 Classic portable?

Yes. The included four-wheel caster kit lets one person roll the assembled lift to a different position in the garage when the floor is needed for something else. No permanent installation is required.

How is the Triumph NSS-8 Classic delivered?

The NSS-8 Classic ships LTL freight at approximately 1,600 lbs. The freight carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, but the driver does not unload the lift. You will need a forklift, tow truck, or similar equipment rated for 1,600 lbs at your delivery address. Plan for this before placing your order.
