NSS-8XLT 8,000 lb — The Four-Post Lift You Can Actually Stand Up Under

The Triumph NSS-8XLT 8,000 lb Four-Post Car Lift is built for two jobs: serious service work and long-term vehicle storage. Drive up the aluminum approach ramps, raise to full height in approximately 40 seconds, and either work underneath at full standing height or park a second vehicle below to reclaim a full bay.

What separates the NSS-8XLT from the standard NSS-8 is 79 inches of clearance beneath the runway — standing room for most adults. The 180-inch runway and 99-inch drive-thru width give full-size trucks, extended-cab pickups, and long-wheelbase vehicles room to load squarely without the rear wheels hanging off the end of the deck.

Built on the same four-post architecture Triumph has refined for more than 20 years, powered by standard 110V, and shipped complete with every accessory included.

What Makes the Triumph NSS-8XLT Four-Post Lift Stand Out

✔ 79 Inches of Clearance Under the Runway

At 79 inches of under-runway clearance, you are standing upright beneath the vehicle. Exhaust work, fluid changes, gearbox jobs, and underbody inspections become straightforward tasks rather than awkward contortions — the single specification that separates the XLT from the standard NSS-8.

✔ 180-Inch Runway for Long-Wheelbase Vehicles

Built specifically for extended-cab pickups, long-wheelbase vans, full-size SUVs, and classic American cars that overhang a shorter deck. The extra runway length eliminates the rear-wheel overhang that four-post owners consistently describe as uncomfortable.

✔ 10-Position Automatic Lock Ladder — Single-Point Release

Ten automatic locking positions engage as the lift rises, with the load resting on mechanical locks rather than hydraulic pressure. A single-point release drops all four columns together from one location — no walking around the lift to free each post individually.

✔ 110V Plug-In Operation

Runs on 110V with a dedicated 30A breaker, so no 220V service is needed. Have a licensed electrician confirm your garage has a 30A, 110V circuit and receptacle before delivery. Steel oil tank, manual lowering lever, and UL-listed plug included on the power unit. Full lift cycle in approximately 40 seconds.

✔ Aluminum Approach Ramps — Light Enough to Lift by Hand

Two aluminum drive-on ramps ship with the lift. Light enough to remove and store by hand every time you need jack access. The 5-inch lowered height keeps low-clearance vehicles clearing the ramps without scraping.

✔ Caster Kit, Jack Tray & Three Drip Trays — All Included

Caster kit for repositioning the empty lift. Steel jack tray for one-end service with a bottle or floor jack. Three plastic drip trays to protect the lower vehicle from fluid drips. All three included in the box at no extra charge.

✔ 20+ Years of Field-Proven Design

Same four-post architecture Triumph has built and refined for more than 20 years. Past its growing pains and into proven, reliable territory.

Triumph NSS-8XLT — Does It Fit Your Garage?

Ceiling Height

The NSS-8XLT stands 94 inches tall at its columns. That's the lift alone, no vehicle on it. If you're planning to stack two vehicles, your ceiling needs to clear the roof of whatever is sitting on the upper runway at your chosen lock height. Measure your actual vehicles — don't estimate.

Floor Length

The NSS-8XLT runs 190 inches overall. Add walking clearance at both ends before deciding it fits, and account for space when the approach ramps are off the lift. Width is what most often stops the XLT going where buyers expected — check that first.

Floor Width

The overall base width is 112 inches — just over 9 feet and wider than the standard NSS-8. Check your bay width against that number before anything else.

Vehicle Size

The drive-thru opening between the posts is 99 inches wide. Runways are 18 inches wide, sitting 37 inches apart, and run 180 inches in length. Extended-cab pickups, full-size SUVs, and long-wheelbase vehicles that overhang a standard four-post deck generally fit the XLT without issue.

Power

The NSS-8XLT runs on 110V with a dedicated 30A breaker. Check that your garage has a 30A receptacle available before delivery day — not after.

Triumph SJ-35 Storage Lift Bridge Jack (Optional)

The Triumph SJ-35 is designed specifically for the Triumph NSS-8 and NSS-8XLT lifts. It slides into the runway gap to give you wheels-off access for brake jobs, tire rotations, and suspension work without removing the vehicle from the lift.

Operated by manual pump, the SJ-35 raises from a collapsed pad height of 4.75 inches up to 11 inches, with extensions available up to 16.5 inches. The adjustable pad width spans 31 inches to 46 inches, fitting the NSS-8XLT's 37-inch between-runway gap cleanly.

  • Fits the NSS-8 and NSS-8XLT
  • Manual pump operation — no air or power supply needed
  • Pad height: 4.75" collapsed / 11" extended / 16.5" with extensions
  • Adjustable pad width: 31" min / 46" max

Triumph NSS-8XLT Four-Post Car Lift Product FAQs

What is the difference between the NSS-8 and the NSS-8XLT?

The NSS-8XLT is the extended version of the standard NSS-8. The key differences are height under the runway (79" vs 69"), lift height (82" vs 72"), runway length (180" vs 165"), overall height (94" vs 84"), overall width (112" vs 106"), and drive-thru width (99" vs 93"). The XLT is built for garages with higher ceilings, longer vehicles, and owners who want full standing clearance underneath the lift.

Does the NSS-8XLT require special electrical wiring?

No 220V circuit is needed — the NSS-8XLT runs on 110V with a dedicated 30A breaker. A 30-amp, 110V receptacle isn't a standard wall outlet, so have a licensed electrician confirm your circuit or add one before delivery.

What vehicles will fit on the NSS-8XLT?

The NSS-8XLT supports most cars, SUVs, light-duty trucks, extended-cab pickups, and long-wheelbase vehicles up to 8,000 lbs. The 99-inch drive-thru width and 180-inch runway length accommodate vehicles that typically overhang a standard four-post deck. Always verify your specific vehicle's weight and wheelbase before ordering.

Does the NSS-8XLT need to be bolted to the floor?

No permanent floor installation is required. The NSS-8XLT is a free-standing portable lift. The included caster kit lets you reposition it around your garage when needed. Your concrete must meet the minimum requirements outlined in Triumph's installation manual — request a copy before ordering.

How is the NSS-8XLT delivered and do I need a forklift?

The NSS-8XLT ships LTL freight at approximately 1,800 lbs. The freight carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, but the driver does not unload the lift. You will need a forklift, tow truck, Bobcat, or similar equipment rated for 1,800 lbs available at your delivery address. Plan for this before placing your order.
